Healing a broken heart ♥ Thursday, January 21, 2010
at 7:02 PMIt all began when... I started my day by waking up at 5.30am, Then I sleazily trudged towards the fridge, acting like a mouse in search for food. I saw my departed grandma's photo smiling at me. It was a good wake up call I guess, because after that I was so shocked I couldn't doze off. Then I returned to my room, someone turned on my computer AFTER I got up. It was really weird. My sister couldn't have left it on, neither could my parents! After 6.15am, I went down for school. feeling that someone was trailing my dad and I, I pricked up my senses, but I pretended I was oblivious to it. Around 30seconds later, with the help of fluorescent lightings of the carpark, I saw an eerie silhouette of a woman or a dwarf around 1.4m? I freaked out, but I kept my cool. Let's not worry too much, I reassured myself. The road to school was a peaceful and normal one. After 6.55am, I went in a toilet cubicle, adjusting my uniform, then heard the sound of water. Someone apparently came in without any shuffling footsteps and turned on the tap. Then I saw a roll of tissue rolling in the cubicle. Unlocking the door, i boldly looked out, no one was there. Except for the tap that was turned on and water is still flowing out of it. Morning assembly, and first six lessons was alright. Nothing peculiar and out of the ordinary, except for the last one, which is POA. (apparently) Mr Cheong had mistyped a question, leaving 2 unknowns. Obviously the question, with 2 unknowns, was unsolvable. Until I solved it. I didn't know how I got the answer. In my mind I heard someone urging me to write it down. And so, I did, and true enough, it was right! Mr Cheong and Mr Sim was baffled, puzzled at how I effortlessly got the answer without any calculations. According to them, the question was "impossible to be solved by any means". So, I became the hottest topic (again) among Mr Cheong and Mr Sim (today). Time again and again Mr Sim, as a friend, flooded me after school, asking questions pertaining to my "ingenious method of solving the unknown" or as he called it. But I shooed him off shortly after. After that, as I was returning home from school, I walked upon a short, secluded stretch of marram grass. Then I felt my school bag was mysteriously light as if someone's carrying most of the weight. It couldn't be, there were piles of books inside. Again, i dismissed it as another quirk of mine. Then I returned home, lights turned on. I assumed my mum was back home. So I called out, "ma! wo hui lai le!" (mum, i'm home). Then I heard a rough, low, ruffling voice unlike my mum's calling out for me. It was in some kind of dialect and I only understood half of it. "ah moi, loi, yeung ah-ma hon nei" (girl, come, let me see you) Spooked out badly, I turned on ALL lights and ran up the stairs. Heartbeat rate shot up like a rocket, I blasted the volume of the TV, mp3 player and my computer. I was so scared, but yet subtly I felt weirdly safe. Soon after, I calmed down and went for a short nap. I put aside all my worries and stress, and off like a light I go... After I woke up, I returned to my study desk. I saw a paper and a pen on the desk, which I didn't left it there. Uncontrollably, I took up the pen and write, write, continue writing. I didn't even have to think of what to write, I just allowed my hand to gain control over me. Soon I started reading what my hand wrote. I was WRITING WITH MY RIGHT HAND (which is really impossible), I'm a lefthander, but heck, "I" wrote it anyway. It says. "By the time of 6pm you must be careful, for if you are not, death would claim you as it has claimed me." I WAS SHOCKED OUT OF MY LIFE. Looked at clock. 5.45pm. 15min to that undesirable doom. Heart fought and knocked hard on my ribcage, So I went out for a breather, trying to forget about that message. On another side of the road, there was an ice-cream truck. Feeling feisty and craving for some sweet calories, I unthinkingly walked towards the another side, never noticing the red light and the speeding car. Then... I felt someone place his/her hand on my collar bone and held me back with force. I was overwhelmed and shocked. An inch to my possible death. I spun around, but that lifesaver was no longer there. No trace, no nothing. I was really grateful. I didn't know what to do. I dropped the idea of buying an ice cream. Better be safe than sorry I guess, so I went home before anything could happen again. - After i relate this story to my mum, I then knew the hidden truth. my mum told me, "ah girl, ahma saved you." I believed it, without a doubt. It was confirmed. with a height of 1.48m, crouched back. That part where "something" held me back, my collarbone, had the fingernail mark of my deceased grandmother, thin and jagged marks symbolised a finger's nail, sharp and thin, but never cutting through my flesh nor my mum's. I believed it in the first place, ancestors would never hurt their beloved descendants. - Why should there be any doubt? For all these "coincidences", for all these "hallucinations", "save nothing but lives, take away nothing but memories, leave nothing but mysteries" Do you know what day today is? The today 89 years ago, was the death date of my grandmother. She died in a hit-and-run accident. Sorry, I forced myself t walk away from you ♥ |
